Area politicians touted their accomplishments and pledged
that uncompleted initiatives would be finished if they were re-elected in
May.
The final meeting of the Tourism Strategic Advisory Board
April 5 saw Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome, Pattaya City Council members and
non-elected panelists boast of 11 major accomplishments over the past four
years and outline progress on uncompleted items that could be completed if
the board members were returned to office in elections next month.
Itthiphol listed the accomplishments, including the
establishment of the Thappraya 2310 civil defense volunteers, launch of an
automated traffic management system, installation of 42 pedestrian crossing
lights, upgrading of Pattaya’s flood drainage system, installation of six
additional water pumps in Huay Yai, and landscaping of beaches and roadways.
Proposed, but not yet completed, are initiatives to widen
Beach Road, build a downtown monorail and expansion of the city’s water
processing facilities. These are all in the planning stages, Itthiphol said,
and can be continued if he is re-elected.
