“mini United Nations” brings Service above Self to Thailand

6, in Bangkok. Thailand hosted over 35,000 Rotarians from across the world in
what is sometimes described as a “mini United Nations” because of its
internationality and multiculturalism.
Chonburi Gov. Khomsan Ekachai led hundreds of
residents, community leaders and other dignitaries in marking the 62nd
anniversary of the Coronation of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the
Great at Chalerm Prakeit Pavillion.

Pattaya’s Soul Lounge Session on Saturday, May 26 from
9.30 p.m. Thanakrit gained fame during the second TV
series of Academy Fantasia and will be supported at the
Hard Rock by alternative rock group The Melodious.
The 2012 RI Convention in Bangkok, Thailand, has drawn to
a close. But the event is still leaving a big smile on many people’s faces.
On 7 May, exactly 2,012 participants put on yellow and blue jackets and
hoods to form Thailand’s Biggest Smile at the Impact Arena for Ripley’s
Believe It Or Not. The number 2012 reflected the convention year and the
year Rotary members celebrated exceeding Rotary’s US$200 Million Challenge
for polio eradication.

of World Records.
2012 TOG Regatta: Another huge success for founder Bill Gasson
There is no doubt that the eighth Top of the Gulf Regatta, sailed
out off the Ocean Marina facilities last week, was the most successful of
the series. Master-minded by yacht-racing entrepreneur William J. Gasson who
watched over every detail, the 13-class event, comprised some 300 craft and
1,000 participants who came from 25 countries to compete with local Thai
sailors in this maritime extravaganza.
Bangkok Hospital Pattaya held a Junior Save the
World Year 3 ‘Wading Aoh Khung Kraben’, inviting over 30 Junior Chivawattana
family members to join the program. The fun at Aoh Khung Kraben in
Chantaburi province included releasing shrimps into the sea, studying the
mangrove forest and educating the children on the importance of the
maintenance of nature and environment.
