City photo contest offers 100,000 baht 1st prize

Showing Pattaya in its best light can win you up to 100,000 baht in the city’s second photo contest for students and adults.

The contest, organized by city hall and the Federation of Photographic Associations of Thailand, aims to illustrate the best of tradition, culture, lifestyle and nature in Pattaya during 2012 and on its near islands. Entries will be accepted through Sept. 10 with the winners selected on Sept. 15.

At a July 10 organizational meeting, Pattaya Deputy Permanent Secretary Sutham Phetket and FPAT President Sawat Pattiphanprasert said students and adults will compete in separate categories, with adults able to win a first prize of 100,000 baht and students a top prize of 30,000 baht.

Second-place prizes are 50,000 baht and 20,000 baht for adults and students, respectively. Third place will net the winners 30,000 baht and 10,000 baht. There also will be 20 adult consolation prizes of 5,000 baht and 10 student prizes of 3,000 baht.
