This turned out to be a very educational evening, with Khun Ekachai, whose family owns the Domaine St. George Winery in the Sanoma Valley, California expounding on the differences between the descriptions of wines as being Vintage, Appellation or Varietal Content. He also explained how wine makers keep champagne wines to deliver a consistent quality and taste. Ekachai Mahaguna (right) from Cannon Pacific moderated the last meeting of the Royal Cliff Wine Club. Four wines were tasted from the New World, two from Chile and two from California, and the Wine Club members could be seen assiduously applying the tasting methods learned at the previous meeting. The next meeting of the Wine Club should be a wine makers dinner in July and details will be published in the Pattaya Mail beforehand.
