Representatives from Pattaya’s 38 neighborhoods talked with
area MPs and city leaders about local problems at an open house at Pattaya
School No. 2.
MPs Poramet Ngampichet and Santsak Ngampichet, Mayor
Itthiphol Kunplome and members of the Pattaya and Banglamung councils attended
the luncheon forum Sept. 18.
Poramet said he organized the meeting because, with its focus
on developing tourism, Pattaya may not always help local residents with their
problems in a timely manner. He said giving residents access to lawmakers could
bring faster results, as the MPs can bring up matters at the national level.
Itthiphol also took the floor to review ongoing city
initiatives, including beach landscaping, public health and his “Pattaya Brand”
project.
“I have collaborated with Pattaya’s mayor in pushing many
projects to success and a meeting between leaders and citizens is considered
important,” Poramet said. “Here, Pattaya administrators have learnt of citizens
problems up-close and personally.”
