An Iranian boxer was arrested after allegedly injuring three people by
throwing a bottle at their car.
Khomahsoudi Ayoub, 30, was apprehended Nov. 5 following the incident on Soi
Mabyailia 37, Nongprue. Noppawan Sohheng, 25, Klommas Yuttanawa, 22, and her
8-month-old baby were injured when the suspect allegedly threw a full bottle
of vinegar through their car window.
Noppawan, daughter of the imam at Nulunyagreen mosque on Soi Nernplabwan,
said she was running errands when she saw Ayoub standing next to his pickup
truck, bottle in hand. She said she drove by him, but did not hit Ayoub.
Then, suddenly, the suspect threw the bottle, breaking the window and
cutting them with glass.
Police said the suspect resisted arrest, attacking a volunteer who tried to
restrain him.
Through broken English, Ayoub said he simply threw the bottle in anger at
almost being hit. Given the woman’s connection to the mosque, police were
skeptical and jailed the suspect until an interpreter could be brought in to
aid the investigation.
