City officials and community leaders picked up brooms to give Walking
Street a good cleaning.
Deputy Mayor Ronakit Ekasingh and Walking Street community chief Sunthorn
Kangsirikul led the Nov. 15 parade of volunteers and bureaucrats for the
periodic “big cleaning day.”
Sponsored by Thepthai Inter Co., the cleanup saw the nightlife district
swept and washed from South Road to Bali Hai Pier. Drainage pipes were
cleared and trash hauled away, while company workers dropped bio-enzymes
into drains to remove unpleasant odors.
The effort is one of many performed around the city with city officials and
neighborhood leaders joining to keep Pattaya clean and attractive to
tourists.
