Rayong authorities rescued a woman threatening to jump from a
highway overpass after learning her boyfriend had cheated on her.
Siripan Pukpul, 30, was pulled from the Highway 36 bridge near the Big C
supermarket in Rayong Nov. 18. She was uninjured.
Police said Siripan became agitated and threatened to commit suicide
after getting into an argument with her boyfriend while shopping at the
nearby mall. As they crossed the bridge to return home, she hopped the
fence and threatened to jump.
Authorities implored Siripan not to jump, urging her to consider her
child and promising to speak to her cheating boyfriend. During
negotiations, a rescue worker snuck in behind her and grabbed her by the
arms as she held a fence.
