Three Iranian men were arrested after regional and immigration
police raided meth labs in Jomtien Beach and East Pattaya.
Office of National Control Board drug agents, Chonburi and Pattaya police
and Chonburi Immigration police swept into Greenpark Village on Soi
Chaiyapruek 2 Nov. 29, four days after another Iranian was arrested with 2.5
kg. of liquefied crystal methamphetamine and four accomplices escaped.
Captured inside were Asadollahi Bahnam Ali, 36; Meti Munaei, 28; Behzad
Charhooz, 25. Officers found the house was operating as a complete lab for
crystal meth production with more than 20 kg. of chemicals recovered, as
well as tanks and other equipment.
Investigators moved to a second house in Chokchai Village 7 on Soi Khao Noi,
finding another lab, but no suspects.
Police alleged the Iranians were part of a gang that has been producing
drugs in Bangkok, Pattaya and Chiang Mai by bringing in specialists from
Malaysia. The group has been under investigation for a year.
