A former driver for Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome died after
being shot twice in Banglamung.
Kamol Supatsaksakul, 44, died of shots to the throat and chest Dec. 8
outside the Naturesa Condominium sales office near Nongprue Canal bridge
on Soi Chaiyapornwitti.
Banjerd Aedphud, a security guard at the sales office, said he heard
three shots before finding Kamol lying in a pool of blood. His wife
stood nearby crying.
Banglamung Police Superintendent Col. Suphachai Phuikaewkhum said Kamol
had a been a driver temporarily for Itthiphol, but lost his job when the
mayor began driving himself. Recently the victim had owned an ad hoc bar
near Bali Hai Pier.
Kamol was driving home from work with his wife when the shooting
occurred. Suphachai said he believed the shooting was connected to a
personal dispute, not Kamol’s work with the mayor. But he also said
witnesses reported the victim was friendly and didn’t appear to have any
problems with anyone.
