A 45-year-old window technician has been charged with allegedly
molesting his 5-year-old stepdaughter.
Buriram native Peng Chanatlay was taken into custody Jan. 14 following a
complaint filed by his longtime girlfriend.
She told police that her daughter’s play friend informed her that Peng
had been improperly touching her daughter two days earlier. She then
asked her daughter and examined her to find evidence of the assault.
Doctors at Banglamung Hospital confirmed she’d been raped.
Peng said he’d been living with his girlfriend in their Soi 6 apartment
for three years. The couple also have a 3-year-old child together.
Police said he denied the molestation charges, saying the most overt
affection he’d shown her was a kiss goodnight on the cheek.
Peng was charged with raping a minor under age 15.
