160,000 ya ba pills seized, 4 arrested in drug raid

Police bring out the suspects, drugs and weapon to show the press.

Boonlua Chatree
Nongprue police seized more than 1,600 methamphetamine pills and arrested four during a raid of a house in Takientia linked to a major area drug ring.
Suthat Meewai, 34; Wittaya Luangkhet, 27; Jetsada Charoenkan, 18; and Chatmongkol Songsiang, 16, were caught Jan. 21 at the Rong Poh Townhouse Village with 1,600 ya ba pills, 100 g. of crystal methamphetamines and a homemade handgun.
Police said the arrest came after minor drug dealers previously arrested pointed to Wittaya as their distributor. The drug haul had an estimated value of 500,000 baht.
All the suspects denied dealing drugs and ownership of the drugs found in the house’s cupboards.
Investigators alleged Suthat, recently released from prison after serving a sentence for drug dealing, ordered methamphetamines from Bangkok and sold them to Wittaya to resell in the Pattaya area. The two teens were alleged to work as delivery boys.
