Palang Chon recruits new members in Sattahip

The Palang Chon Party hosted a recruitment meeting in Sattahip to drive interest in the party and educate newcomers on election laws.

Looking to expand outside of Chonburi, the Palang Chon Party hosted a recruitment meeting to drive interest in the party and educate newcomers on election laws.
Culture Minister Sonthaya Kunplome headed the March 26 meeting at Sattahip’s Ban Mai Hom Hotel. Speakers included Wiroj Wangkaewjiran, of the Prime Minister’s secretariat, Santipol Phatsanguan, chairman of the Chonburi Election Committee, and former member Chatchai Niphatsiriphol.

Speakers reviewed the party’s bylaws, general election laws and regulations and prohibitions against various tactics in behaviors for those running for office.
Sonthaya said Palang Chon has elected only six members, all from Chonburi, to the parliament. But party leaders want the organization to grow and, to do that, it needs new members from other areas, he said.
The culture minister said Sattahip is an important area for the party, as it has three bases of population to call on: the private sector, government workers and the Royal Thai Navy. It will be an area of growth in coming years, he added, due to the expansion of U-Tapao-Pattaya International Airport and a new high-speed rail link to factories in Rayong.
