A Bangkok man has been arrested for stealing a South African expat’s
car and more than 100,000 baht in cash and electronics.
Supparuek Topa, 23, was captured with the white Toyota Vios in the parking
lot of the Pattaya Bay Hotel March 5. Inside the car were items reported
stolen including an Apple iPad, Ray Ban sunglasses and 100,000 baht in cash
and U.S. dollars.
The items belonged to Patrick McBride, who reported a 3 a.m. burglary at his
home on Soi Kasetsin in South Pattaya.
Police said Supparuek confessed to the burglary.
