Fifty more area residents trained to become civil-defense volunteers in Pattaya.
Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome opened the May 26-30 session. Training is offered each
year under Interior Ministry guidelines. Volunteers assist during emergencies
and natural disasters.
Goals include creating a “volunteer spirit,” preventing and mitigating natural
disasters, fighting fires, understanding teamwork, briefing volunteers on the
latest regulations, expanding the volunteer network and offering field study
with other organizations to apply knowledge gained in the classroom.
