An honest custodian who found almost 100,000 baht on the side of the
road returned the cash to the American teacher who lost it.
Yuphin Bunphet, 43, said she was driving home from her job as a cleaner
at a massage parlor May 24 when she saw a shoulder bag lying on the side
of Naklua Road near Sukhumvit Road.
She said she was shocked to find the bag filled with Thai baht and
Philippine pesos equaling almost 100,000 baht. A passport also was in
the bag.
She turned the cash in to police, who tracked down owner James Roy
Malanik, 64. The thankful teacher rewarded the maid with some of the
cash.
