Pattaya Police Chief Pol. Col. Supathee Bungkhrong has ordered taxi drivers in
Jomtien to stop using the Dongtan police kiosk as a taxi stand.
The AIA Company recently donated a covered police box to keep officers shaded
while on duty. However, local taxi drivers have taken over the kiosk and turned
it into a waiting and storage area.
The roof of the booth is made in the shape of the police helmet, whilst the
badge of the Royal Thai Police is displayed prominently on front. The kiosk
contains 4 seats and is meant to provide officers with a rest area whilst on
duty.
Pol. Col. Supathee has instructed the taxi drivers to clear out there belongings
and cease parking on the Dongtan curve, as this also causes traffic problems.
