Mother Nature is back raising havoc in the
greater Pattaya area, flooding streets and neighborhoods and felling
trees. The latest, Monday’s overnight rain, played dominos with power
poles in Naklua after a tree collapsed and fell into electrical lines.
Provincial Electrical Authority officials were called in, but had to
wait until city workers could arrive to cut up the fallen tree before
they could restore power to the area.

Monday’s overnight rain played dominos with power poles in
Naklua after a tree collapsed and fell into electrical lines.
The ground weakened by the downpour, the huge tree on Soi Pothisan 3
fell around 5 a.m. Its branches caught wires of one electrical pole and
the force pulled down three others.
Alarmed neighbors jolted awake by the clamor called authorities, who
informed both the Provincial Electrical Authority and city hall.
The PEA was first to arrive around 9:30, working to restore power to the
area. But they had to wait for city workers to arrive to cut the tree
into pieces.
The poles will be replaced and the city was expected to have removed the
last bits of fallen tree by the end of the day.

The tree across the road
in the background fell across power lines during the storm early Monday
morning, causing 4 utility poles to fall like dominos.
