Pattaya goes “live” on the Internet

Tourists who are thinking about spending their holiday in Pattaya can now get a glimpse of this beautiful city from the comfort of their own homes, wherever they are in the world. Regular tourists to Pattaya can also get an inside look at all the happenings of their favorite tourist center on the newly launched webpage pattayalivecam.com

This is made possible through the installation of several live cameras in interesting spots throughout the city (Walking Street, Beach Road, etc.) by the website’s company, Pattayalivecam.

Live cams take snapshots of scenery in regular intervals of a few seconds and transmit them to the Internet.

The pattayalivecam.com webpage was launched just a few weeks ago, and the owners of the website are amazed by the amount of traffic already being received in this early stage.

The Thailand-based firm is receiving a lot of feedback from visitors to pattayalivecam.com from different continents. Adapting the website to this vast feedback, a section for Pattaya video clips has been added. There you can share your humorous video snippets or beautiful scenery by sending it to pattayalivecam.com. These videos are available to visitors for downloading. “It is intended to be a worldwide video forum,” say the owners of Pattayalivecam. “A large archive on general attractions of Thailand has also been added. Now you can show your friends a short video clip of what you have tried to explain in words or a still picture.”

Pattayalivecam insures that only legitimate content is displayed and that it complies with the local laws by thoroughly checking the contents before uploading.

Pictures are not currently updated with optimized speed, however, and web visitors within Thailand have to encounter slower update of live pictures. “Problems like these are temporary only and will be improved depending on the technological advancement of the telecommunication centers in Thailand,” explain the owners of Pattayalivecam. The company will upgrade to the newest equipment when it becomes available in this sector to optimize speed and quality. Soon live streaming videos in movie quality will be available through the Internet.

One of the “hotspots” featured on pattayalivecam web page is Tony’s Entertainment Complex on Walking Street. Tony “The Master of Entertainment” was quickly convinced of the success of this project. The live camera in Tony’s is “on air” daily from 23:30 to 4:00 in the morning.

Other live cams have been installed in the Royal Garden Plaza (on air from 12:00 to 22:00), Pattaya Beach Road (on air from 6:00 to 21:00) and on Walking Street (on air from 20:00 to 03:00).

Also, a newly installed weather channel and thermometer is now bringing Pattaya closer to virtual visitors.

Pattayalivecam wants to install more cameras in Pattaya. If you think that your entertainment spot is of interest to a worldwide audience, please contact Pattayalivecam at [email protected]
