Make
sure you get the right shop!
On Sunday I took my nephew to Ning Barber (opposite
Hollywood Disco) and as I sat there watching ‘shaggy mops’ of unruly
hair turn into true creations in minutes, I decided this would be an ideal
subject for the shopping column. I was fascinated at the speed and true
professionalism of the two barbers, who I later found out were named Ron and
Pook.
Ron
knows how to chop a mop or two
It occurred to me that gentlemen in Pattaya must have the
same hard time getting a decent haircut as the ladies and from personal
experience I know the horrors you can go through before you do find the
right hairdresser.
I explained my column in Pattaya Mail to my two friendly
barbers and they told me about themselves: the business has been there for
10 years, and just recently they installed air conditioning to make it more
comfortable for the customers. Customer service is a priority and everyone
is greeted with a smile and a glass of water; there are newspapers available
and a TV for waiting customers. You gentlemen will be pleased to note that
the price is the same for Farang or Thai and all prices are very reasonable.
Pook
is an expert at what he does
Whether you are after a simple haircut, colour, perm,
shave, hot or cold towels, ears, nose or massage it’s all available, even
if you only have a photo to copy.
As I sat and talked to Ron and Pook the continual stream
of customers were dealt with in a calm and efficient way. Once again I was
impressed with the speed and was fascinated watching Ron’s hands and
intense concentration on his task.
The best recommendation was the happy smiling customers
that walked out.
