Over the last couple of years ISE has added about 50
new computers to replace computers that were out of date, and in some
cases not working. The students in the High School Computer Tech class,
who are also designing the new ISE Web page at (www.ise.ac.th) took on the
job to see what could be done with some of these old computers.
The class spent more than 2 weeks cleaning, repairing
and checking software of the computers and printers, in order to get them
up and running again.

class with some of the teachers from the Ban Nong Chun Hed School.
On Wednesday morning, the six students in the Computer
Tech Class, (Brian Chou, Daisy Vogt, Yi Hao Chiang, Jack Lin, Kate
Jiraboondilok and Michael Tang) and the two class advisors, Mr. McIntosh
and Mr. Romel, set out to the rural Thai school to deliver 15 of these.
There was a warm welcome, with lots of speeches
(translated by Daisy to the great delight of all) and some Thai dancing,
in which all the visitors were asked to join. From all reports the girls
did a fine job, but the less said about the dancing of the gentlemen from
ISE, the better.
After a delicious lunch, provided by the Ban Nong Chun
Hed School, an introduction to the teachers, how to make the best use of
these “new computers” and a tour of the premises, which holds 345
students, the students of ISE left, after a day well spent.
ISE is very proud of the students who contributed to
the efforts to help a neighboring Thai school, in these times. It is
important to know that people from different backgrounds and cultures can
help and care for each other.
