Nazrul Islam, a tailor shop owner, said he and Suphasit
have known each other for 3 years. Narzul said he first met Suphasit when
she came to his relative’s house to teach Thai to his nephew. It was not
really love at first sight but it grew from then on.
Narzul said they both have one thing in common, which is
the love and respect that they have towards King Rama V the Great. They said
this true and respectful belief gave support to their family and business
life.
Wattana Chantarawaranont, Pattaya deputy mayor, gave the couple some
words of wisdom and wished both of them a long and very happy married life.
He also urged the couple to try to forgive and forget whatever mistakes and
blunders that they might come across in the future and solve problems with
wisdom not emotion. Lastly the deputy mayor wished them both a smooth
relationship and a marriage filled with love and understanding.
After forty years of bachelorhood, Pattaya business pioneer weds
After enjoying his bachelorhood for over 40 years, the
owner of Pattaya Shoe, the city’s first ‘real shop’, Somsak
Chaiwongsriarun finally tied a love knot with his beautiful bride Nicha
Rungsri from Sukhothai Province.
Somsak
Chaiwongsriarun and Nicha Rungsri celebrated their marriage ceremony with
family and friends at the Island View Hotel.
The wedding reception was held at the poolside of the
Island View Hotel and was graced by honored guest Sansak Chawalitnittitham
of the Chart Thai Party in Chonburi.
Somsak told guests how he finally decided to marry his
bride, saying that because there were so many breakups of marriages in his
family and circle of friends, he had made up his mind not to ever get
married.
But that was only until he met Nicha who changed his mind
with her charm and love which made him want to give her a quality
relationship and family which of course meant marrying her.
The couple visited Phuket for their honeymoon to enjoy another
fascinating beach paradise in Thailand and to support tourism in Thailand
rather than to spend money abroad.

Lovers urged to ‘think Thai’
Forget the chocolates, forget the roses, and instead give
your loved one a heart-shaped package of dried pork or coconut jelly.
The government is trying to inject a little patriotic
spirit into this year’s St. Valentine’s Day by urging young couples to
give traditional Thai sweetmeats as Valentine’s gifts as opposed to
foreign imports.
A number of Thai sweetmeats have been chosen to kick off
the project, ranging from glazed durian and coconut jelly to egg rolls
filled with prawns and dried pork, and Yakult yogurt. In a twist of
symbolism that seems to have been lost on the organizers of the project,
dried bananas are also among the sweetmeats on offer.
The government admitted that this project would not
perhaps find many supporters in its first year, but expressed confidence
that in a few years’ time Thai lovers would be ditching their chocolates
and roses in favor of spicy tamarind and fruit toffee.
Producers of the sweetmeats have been told to package
them in special Valentine’s wrapping in the hopes that this might attract
more buyers. (TNA)
