Convicted Russians to appeal as Moscow pleads for compassion

Relatives of three Russian men sentenced to death and long jail terms in Thailand for armed robbery will file appeals, a diplomat said Thursday, as Moscow urged Thai authorities to “show humaneness” toward the convicts.

“The relatives of these people are in very close contact with their lawyers and are planning to appeal to the Appeals Court of Thailand,” said Andre Dvornikov, a Russian consul in Thailand.

Newly installed president Pratheep ‘Peter’ Malhotra of the Rotary Club of Jomtien-Pattaya announced two joint projects with the Interact Club of Banglamung last week. One was to work together to clean up the beach after the Loy Krathong Festival, and the other would be to help the children organise a bowling tournament scheduled for the 15th of November in Jomtien.

11th Annual Bangkok International Softball Tournament

The Bangkok International Softball League (BISL) is pleased to announce that the 11th Annual Bangkok International Softball Tournament will be held November 21-23.

The tournament will feature 20 teams with over 250 athletes from Singapore, Hong Kong, Korea, The Philippines, Taiwan, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Abu Dhabi, Shanghai, and Thailand. Additionally, hundreds of spectators will be attending the event.
