Mayor says city is working to solve Jomtien sewerage problem

Wastewater is pouring into the bay

In response to a host of complaints from residents and business owners over the release of sewage into the sea in front of Somprasong plaza, Mayor Niran Wattanasartsathorn and Public Works Director Wirat Jirasripaiboon met with reporters on August 4 at the beachfront to quell the problems.

Black murky waste was pouring out of the drainage system and onto the beach, turning the sand and water black.

“Big Mango”, allegedly only written as a joke, is to become a movie. According to Jake Needham his first book was simply written as a spoof but sold so many copies that he continued his writing career and has worked on the screenplay for the development of the movie, which will star James Gandolfini from “The Sopranos”.

Pattaya citizens turn out in force for Royal Emblem relay in honor of HM the Queen

The Thai people’s love for their Queen was expressed in the form of a Royal Emblem relay last week. Local heads of government, civil servants and members of the private sector passed the Royal Emblem inscribed with the initials of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit along at 17 relay points from the outskirts of the city, ending at the Bali Hai pier.

A 7:30 a.m. Shotgun start saw the commencement of the 2004 CUEL Charity Classic Golf Day at the well groomed Laem Chabang Country Club & Golf Course of Friday July 30. 152 players scrambled to demonstrate their skills on what proved to be a first class day of golf and general enjoyment.
