The Charity Club of Pattaya’s clothing appeal continues: In preparation of the cold weather hitting the north of Thailand, the Charity Club of Pattaya is collecting clothing, shoes and blankets for the people and children of Esarn. The next meeting of Pattaya City Expats Club (PCEC) will be on Sunday, October 21. The Club meets every Sunday morning at Henry J. Bean’s Restaurant on the north end of Beach Road in the grounds of the Amari Orchid Resort. The program starts as usual at 10:30 a.m. with a buffet breakfast available from 9:30 to 11 a.m. This week, the PCEC welcomes Dr. Natchai Jitthamvanich of Physical Rehabilitation Center of the Bangkok Hospital Pattaya. Dr. Natchai is a specialist in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. As people grow older, they need to modify their exercise habits as unorganized exercise may cause problems to healthy organs. Dr Nachai will propose a schedule and proper way of exercise based on age and specific needs. This will be followed by the ever lively Open Forum and update on happenings in and around Pattaya. For the past 28 years the Samaritans of Thailand have been providing confidential crisis intervention services over the telephone. The English-speaking unit, Samaritans English Help Line operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide support to the expatriate community. English-speaking staff, trained in crisis intervention will provide active, non-judgmental and empathetic listening services on the phone. The Royal British Legion, Chonburi Thailand Branch is now up and running at Tropical Bert’s. You do not have to have served in H.M. armed services to join as long as you support the principles of the Legion you are more than welcome. All members receive a 15% discount every day at the bar and there is a get together every Sunday lunch (free food). Amor Restaurant will be holding their annual Pattaya Gay Festival Charity Dinner on Sunday October 28 at 8pm.
