The next Pattaya City Expats Club (PCEC) meeting will be on Sunday, May 31. The club meets every Sunday morning at Henry J. Bean’s Restaurant on the north end of Beach Road in the grounds of the Amari Orchid Resort. The program starts as usual at 10:30 a.m. with a buffet breakfast available from 9:30 to 11 a.m., everyone welcome. Each week the PCEC has an interesting speaker to talk on various subjects of interest in an informal setting. This week’s speaker will be Bob L’Toile, sharing his experience in a recent cruise to ports in Australia, Bali, and Singapore. The following Sunday, June 7, WMJ, the well known cartoonist for some of our local English language publications, will be discussing his experiences and sharing his illustrations with us. For the past 28 years the Samaritans of Thailand have been providing confidential crisis intervention services over the telephone. The English-speaking unit, Samaritans English Help Line operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide support to the expatriate community. English-speaking staff, trained in crisis intervention will provide active, non-judgmental and empathetic listening services on the phone. A BCCT Networking Evening on the Eastern Seaboard will be held on the 10th floor, Building D of the Bangkok Hospital Pattaya on Friday, May 29 from 6.30 p.m. Bangkok Hospital Pattaya is sponsoring selected beverages and finger food on a first-come, first-served basis from 6.30 p.m. All members and guests are welcome.
