Is this
finally the last stop for alleged British pedophile Roderick William
Robinson, or just another quick layover during his international flight from
justice?
Boonlua Chatree
Chonburi Immigration Police arrested an alleged British
pedophile who’d jumped bail four times in three countries to hide out in
Pattaya.
Acting on a request of the British Serious Organized
Crime Agency, Immigration Police canceled the retirement visa of Roderick
William Robinson, 73, and took him into custody at his V&M Terrance
apartment on Soi Buakaow Feb. 15.
The former oil tanker captain has been on the run for 12
years from charges he allegedly abused underage girls in England, Australia
and New Zealand. In each case, he was granted bail and fled the country. He
was also arrested last year in Portugal and deported to Australia, but
allegedly used a stolen passport to escape the country while out on bail.
Robinson was first arrested for molestation of a
13-year-old girl in the U.K. on Valentine’s Day in 1998. He fled Britain for
Australia, but was arrested a year later there for allegedly molesting a
9-year-old girl. Released on bail, he failed to answer charges and fled to
New Zealand, where he was again arrested on pedophile charges.
Authorities again granted him bail on the condition he
surrendered his passport. But using supposedly stolen documents, he fled
abroad again, landing in Portugal, then in Thailand.
