Foodland held their annual International Food and
Beverage Party 2011 recently and as ever, it was an extremely well attended
event. Hundreds of Thais and foreigners came along to sample some of the
wonderful cold cuts, cheeses, desserts and the odd glass of wine or two.

Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome took time out of his busy
schedule to come along and support the Foodland Pattaya team, which was
headed up by Managing Director Edwin Lim.
Foodland is something of an institution here in Pattaya
and is renowned for its ease of parking, 24 hour shopping, in-house bakery
and butchery department.
The first ever Foodland was opened in Patpong in Bangkok
forty years ago, when the founder realized that, to keep pace with the
changing times and offer shoppers more convenience, he kept first shop open
until late in the evening. After a few years this was extended to 24 hours
trading and a further 9 branches were created throughout Bangkok.
MD Edwin Lim explained that this party did give a small
sample of the 2000 items that the Pattaya branch has to offer, but the real
purpose was to thank his customers for their support. Customer loyalty is a
rare commodity in these competitive times and there is no doubt that
Foodland has strong ties with the local community. Events like this cement
the relationship.
