An Australian woman said she was awakened in her central
hotel room by a naked Thai man trying to rape her.
Sara Bourke, 26, filed a complaint with Pattaya police
Aug. 5 about the incident at the Pasadena Lodge on Soi LK Metro. She said
she woke up when the man jumped on her. While trying to fight off her
attacker, her boyfriend returned to the room, prompting the would-be rapist
to flee out a window.
Investigators discovered an unwrapped condom and pair of
shoes the suspect left behind. Outside the window were blood, a mobile phone
and a gold ring stolen from the room. Police planned to bring in forensics
experts to check the evidence for fingerprints and get blood samples in
hopes of catching Bourke’s attacker.
