Flood victims taking refuge in Sattahip helped Miss
Thailand Universe Chanyasorn Sakornchan pack 5,000 bags of relief
supplies the Thai Red Cross can distribute to those still in peril.
The evacuees temporarily sheltered at two Air and
Costal Defense Command hangers joined Princess Pa Foundation President
Somthawin Yangyoo at U-Tapao Pattaya International Airport Nov. 5.
Chanyasorn, a Sattahip native, and Royal Thai Navy personnel joined in
the effort for the organization founded by HRH Princess Soamsawalee.
Malinee Phetchakul, 47, said she was happy to help
the navy in its relief effort after the military rescued her from a
flooded home in Pathum Thani where electricity was cut and food was
scarce.
The beauty queen, who has been active in fund-raising
throughout Sattahip District, said helping each other in time of need is
a Thai tradition and that she would continue to help those affected by
the flood crisis.
