Pattaya bus terminal is
jam-packed during the holidays.

While Pattaya draws tens of thousands to the city to
celebrate New Year’s, almost as many leave town to ring in the new year,
making the city’s main bus terminal the busiest place in town.
The comings-and-goings were obvious Jan. 3, as the
Rung Ruang Pattaya Bus Terminal had to put on extra coaches to handle
the influx and exodus of holiday revelers. The long weekend was over and
Tuesday saw many headed back to Bangkok and elsewhere to work, getting
on buses just vacated by passengers returning to Pattaya after visiting
family abroad.
Terminal Assistant Manager Khamron Thongsuwan said
buses traveling between Pattaya and Bangkok’s Southern, Eastern and
Northern terminals were leaving every 30 minutes starting at 5 a.m. and
running through 11 p.m.
Holiday festivals, he said, always push tourism to
the next level as travelers, shoppers and partiers make the Pattaya
station a very congested one.
