More than 600 Royal Thai Navy officers and enlisted men
began the first battalion tactical training of the year, honing skills on
anti-aircraft artillery.
Senior Capt. Suthinan Samarak, Commander of Air Force
Command 2, directed the Jan. 31 launch of 11 days of practice at the Air and
Coastal Defense Command in Sattahip.
The regularly scheduled war games focus on training,
education and development of firearms. Participating were 48 officers, 469
non-commissioned officers and 160 conscripts. Training was done on weapons
including 40/70 mm, 40/60 mm, and 37mm anti-aircraft guns as well as
Flycatcher and QW control systems.
Scenarios covered included fire suppression, resolution
of terrorist situations and sabotage.
