Sattahip officials donated cash, food and diapers to
a Sattahip family whose baby boy is recovering from surgery to treat
“elephant man” syndrome.
Deputy mayors Chaiyathep Bonlert and Traipop
Thoswongchai along with Sattahip District Council members presented the
rice, dried food, milk diapers and money to Pradit Ootun and Phanida
Sae-Chua Jan. 30. Their 16-month-old son Nathakorn Sae-Chua underwent
surgery for hydrocephalus treatment last month.
Chaiyathep said the latest donations for little “Nong
Game” show the government’s continuing commitment to the boy, one of two
Sattahip toddlers suffering from the water-on-the-brain syndrome.
Nathakorn is said to be improving after doctors at
Chonburi Hospital drilled a hole in his head an installed a shunt to
drain excess cerebrospinal fluid into his bladder. The toddler has
become more responsive, his eyes more alert and cramping has decreased,
Pradit said.
Anyone interested in donating to the family can send
