Beer bar cashier arrested for prostituting underage girls

Theerarak Suthathiwong

Nipha Sri-iemchang, 58, cashier of the Family beer bar on Soi Kitti Car Care, Pattaya-Naklua Road, has been arrested for allegedly prostituting two 17-old-old girls.

Police arrest the beer bar’s cashier for bringing 2 underage girls, who had been bought by an undercover volunteer, to a hotel room.

Police set up a sting, whereby a foreign undercover volunteer was given 4,000 baht in photocopied money and sent to the bar. He was instructed to use the money to pay for 2 girls to meet him at a local short time hotel in the evening of Feb. 15.

Nipha allegedly brought the 2 underage girls to the hotel, where police were waiting to pounce. They arrested her on the spot and used the photocopied money as evidence.

Nipha allegedly admitted that she had been “allowing girls under 18 to sell sex for long time.”

The same squad then searched another suspect bar in the area, and after ordering the DJ to turn off the music, police inspected ID cards of all employees but did not find anyone under the age of 18.
