That slow, sinking feeling on Walking Street

Be patient, Pramod Mohra, head of the city Engineering Department office says, repairs will be coming soon

Warunya Thongrod

The head of Pattaya’s Public Utilities Office says officials are aware of the collapsing Walking Street footpath near Bali Hai Pier, but repairs will have to wait until other projects are finished first.

Pramod Mohra, head of the city Engineering Department office, apologized for the slow repair, but said the office is too understaffed to handle all the similar problems on the roads and sidewalks in Pattaya.

He said office receives 5-6 complaints about roadways and footpaths daily, but the office only has less than 60 workers to repair these and other utility problems.

Repairs are coming, he said, but people need to be patient.

Meanwhile, if anyone needs to report their own sinking feeling, they can call the city Call Center at 1337.
