Thais with homes registered outside Pattaya can now
get free health coverage using their health-services gold card.

Dr. Watcharawet Thongsuk
says gold card holders will now be able to receive free dental, medical
and preventative care treatment in Pattaya, even if they are not
registered here.
Thailand’s health system provides universal health
care, but in order to take advantage of it, Thais must go to hospitals
in their home towns, except in case of emergency. The National Health
Security Office, however, recognized that many Thais working in Pattaya
are not from the Eastern Seaboard and have made an exception to the
normal policy.
Dr. Watcharawet Thongsuk of Asia Inter Clinic on
Third Road said gold card holders will now be able to receive free
dental, medical and preventative care treatment in Pattaya, even if they
are not registered here.
Slots for the program are limited to the first 12,000
applicants however. In order to take advantage of the program, patients
must call Asia Inter Clinic at 086-317-2419 or 086-379-7557.
