Boonlua Chatree
Shaky legs made for a shakier getaway for a suspected drug
user who pulled a gun on police.
Montri Padtha, 32, was arrested Aug. 7 after attempting to
flee on foot near the Big C Extra mall on Central Road. Sen. Sgt. Maj. Worakorn
Khumkongsuwan pulled him over for not wearing a helmet, then noticed his legs
were shaking uncontrollably.
Worakorn said Montri then pulled a gun, which he knocked away
before it went off. Montri then ran. The senior sergeant called backup, which
quickly captured the shaky-legged man.
Searching the suspect, police found four methamphetamine
pills in his pocket and a bag of 24 38-caliber bullets under the seat of his
motorbike. He was charged with both illegal drug and weapons possession, plus
pointing a gun at a police officer.
