Chaophya Park Hotels and Resorts Expand

Chaophya Park Hotel & Resorts, Thailand announces the expansion of its resorts portfolio in Koh Samui, with the opening of Al’s Resort - a low-rise beachfront development on Koh Samui’s famed Chaweng Beach.

The first phase of 25 deluxe rooms was completed in late 2004 and the group recently announced that stage two of the project is on target for completion by August ’05, with the addition of 5 luxury Seaview Villas and 12 Deluxe Villas.

The project also includes the addition of a waterfall pool, swim-up bar and children’s pool. Adjacent to the main pool area will be one of the largest seafood restaurants and bistros on Chaweng Beach, with the opening of a 250 seat, 1,200 sq m Talay Boat Restaurant. Architecturally designed as a two masted schooner in full sail, it will feature outstanding seafood and spectacular sunsets, in a most unique setting.

Says General Manager Andrew J Wood, “The addition of the luxury suites and villas to our sister property in Koh Samui, and the beautifully designed pool and gardens in this low rise beachfront resort, adds an additional touch of luxury to this already popular resort.”

Combining the beach properties with the city properties is all part of the group’s marketing strategy to add synergy. “Promoting Samui will help Bangkok,” adds Wood, “many of our long haul visitors enjoy a city/beach combination holiday and we are able to offer them the luxury of both.

“With the hotel’s superb location on Chaweng Beach, the resort is set to be showcased at this year’s ITB travel fair in Berlin, Germany. We expect keen interest from the European travel trade,” said Wood.

Wood adds, “The villas have been designed to maximise the wonderful views from the beachfront locations, and the interiors feature Thai accents with a fresh modern style, accentuated with wood and silk finishes. The villa suites of 66 sq m have the feel of a private beach apartment, each villa suite being equipped for the whole family, kitchen/dining area, master bedroom and living room and the addition of further beds for the children in their own space. Private bathrooms and outdoor balcony with sun lounges complete the luxury design.”

“Samui has seen a strong surge in demand recently, and the outlook for the island looks promising,” Apinya Loychusak, the group’s energetic managing director, reflects.

“Al’s Resort is the third of our Samui properties, complementing the Island Resort and Al’s Hut. We are now able to accommodate over 200 guests in Samui, with each of the 3 properties located within walking distance from each other along Chaweng Beach. Our guests now have a variety of accommodation and dining options to choose from,” said Apinya. Prices for the villa suites range from Bt5,500 net incl ABF in the green season to Bt 7,000 net ABF in the peak.
