Ever searching for inspiration, Sattahip residents rushed to buy lottery
tickets with the number 19 after someone discovered a snake in a cassava
field with 19 eggs.
Sawang Rojthummasathan Foundation officers were called to the field on
Soi Theppburapha May 14 to remove the 3-meter-long python. The capture
took about 20 minutes and the snake and its nest were relocated far from
residential areas.
Of course, superstitious neighbors saw the snake as a sign of stroke of
good fortune and bet big on 19. They lost, of course. Not even one
number came up in the teens in the May 16 drawing.
