Pattaya’s acting police chief lectured officers about ethics while
handing down directives for protecting tourists and suppressing crime.
Col. Chatchawan Pisuthwong and top lieutenants laid out policies on
morality and service at a May 14 assembly at the Cesar’s Palace Hotel.
Topping that list was protecting tourists and suppressing drugs.
A monk from Chaimongkol temple also preached and prayed for the
officers’ good fortunes before attendees made merit by offering robes
and necessities.
Chatchawan, the deputy commander for Chonburi, took over the Pattaya
Police Station from Col. Suwan Cheaonawinthawat May 8 following a raid
by Banglamung District officials of several underground casinos under
the station’s jurisdiction.
