During his recent visit to Thailand, Karma Lotey (left), Director of Bhutan’s Tourism Council, President of the Association of Bhutan Tour Operators (ABTO) and CEO of Yangphel Travel was welcomed by his friend Andrew Wood (right), National President of Skål International Thailand. During cordial discussions held at Andrew’s home the two Skålleagues discussed the possibility of setting up a Skål club in Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital and also co-operation with Andrew’s travel company Worldwide Destinations Asia Co Ltd.


Lee Sung-man, Chairman of Incheon City Council, led 15 members of his city hall team on a visit to Pattaya City Hall recently. They were welcomed by Tawich Chaisawangwong, Chairman of the Pattaya City Council and city management officials. The two chairmen agreed that as sister cities they would maintain cordial relations and cooperate with each other in areas of administration and tourism.


Qantas Airways - The spirit of Australia led by Bob Everest (standing centre), Manager for Thailand and Vietnam, organised a sales seminar for their travel agents at the Amari Orchid Pattaya recently. Agents were updated on the latest Qantas products and services, its networks, and fare-sheets. Bob also encouraged the agents to have closer ties with the airline for the benefit of all parties.


Khunying Trungjai Ittharat and Katha Chinabunchorn presided over the opening ceremony of an art exhibition titled ‘Ang-Si-La in my mind’ by Manu Chantarasorn at the Amari Watergate Bangkok recently. Part of the proceeds of this event will be donated to the Siriwattana Cheshire Foundation under the royal patronage of Her Majesty the Queen. (Above) To mark the 120th anniversary of the Thai Red Cross Society and to celebrate His Majesty the King’s 86th birthday this year, staff and management of the Dusit Thani Pattaya joined in the national program to encourage all Thais to donate blood to the society’s blood bank.
