More than 500 disabled area residents received free health
screenings from Pattaya Hospital as part of the city’s “Pattaya
Maintains Good Health” program.
Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome kicked off the Aug. 15 activity at the
Redemptorist Vocational School, which was co-sponsored by the National
Health Security Office.
Itthiphol said the project will screen 4,914 residents, government
workers and monks for diseases and other ailments by Aug. 30.
“Initial screening for diseases, along with public health services for
the disabled, are ways to help measure the accessibility of health
insurance, which states that the disabled must receive 80 percent
services, support and restoration in various aspects,” the mayor
explained.
Services included checkups, eye exams, chest x-rays, blood and urine
tests, diabetes screening and checks on liver and kidney functions.
