A long-time member of the Pattaya Public Health Volunteers was
elected the group’s president at its 2014 general meeting.
Suphin Ruangrung replaces Ninthra Ngampiem, whose four-year term
expired. She beat out fellow candidates Laksanachom Deesuk, Tim
Inthranont and Kaewarin Inthachot.
“I have worked with the Pattaya Public Health Volunteers for many years
and I am close to all the members,” Suphin said. “I believe that public
health operations will not face any obstacles because our members are
ready and happy to serve residents. I thank members for trusting in
choosing me as the new president. I will continue the former president’s
excellent work and will help the Pattaya Public Health Department work
for Pattaya brothers and sisters to have better health.”
The group’s board is preparing a set of activities for the new year
including screening of patients in each area, introducing health safety
procedures, monitoring contagious and non-contagious diseases in each
community, monitoring diseases suffered by the elderly and chronically
ill, family planning and public health services in school.
