Police are searching for an early-20s man who allegedly tried to rape a
21-year-old woman in East Pattaya.
The victim in the May 3 incident near the Linlinee Music School near Soi
Siam Country Club successfully fought off her attacker, who was
described as a male friend of the woman’s lesbian girlfriend. Wrapped in
an advertising poster and covered in dirt, she called police from a
7-Eleven at the entrance of Soi Nernplabwan.
The victim told police she and her girlfriend were drinking at the
Kaewta Cafe near Jomtien Beach with a man she knows only as “Nat.” After
the girlfriend left, Nat offered to drive the victim home, but said he
had to pick up a motorbike from his brother’s house behind Taihee
Temple.
Finding no bike, they walked out through a small road where Nat
allegedly pulled her into the woods, tore off her clothes and attempted
to rape her. The victim, however, fought back, leaving the attacker on
his back and her running for help.
