An American expat has been arrested for allegedly molesting two young
Cambodian boys in Pattaya.
Christopher Lee Hoff, 56, was arrested by Region 2 Children and Women
Protection officers at his home on Soi Chalermprakiet 20 June 8. Officials
from the American embassy also participated in the arrest.
The arrest of Hoff, also known as “Dave,” came a week after the Cambodian
boys, ages 14 and 15, complained to the Anti-Human Trafficking and Assaulted
Children Centre of Banglamung that they had been sexually assaulted after
meeting Hoff on Walking Street, where he had solicited them for sex.
The boys, who had been at the center after previously reporting an assault
by someone they met on Walking Street, had returned to Pattaya’s nightlife
strip after escaping the shelter.
Police alleged Hoff had been involved in previous pedophilia cases. Hoff
denied the current and previous charges. The partner in a Pattaya
drinking-water firm vowed to fight the case in court.
