Two Iraqis alleged to be part of a larger Middle Eastern burglary gang
were arrested during a break-in at the View Talay Holiday Resort.
Haider Adel Twaiur, 34, and Talal Tarik Alsadune, 40, were captured red-handed
June 12 during the hotel burglary. Police took from them a skeleton key, two
screwdrivers, an Olympus camera and two silver necklaces.
Police alleged the men were part of a group of Iraqi, Algerian and Turkish
thieves that have been burglarizing houses and luxury hotels across Thailand.
The arrest came after police were tipped off to a planned burglary at the View
Talay. Officers said they watched as Twaiur used the 40,000-baht key imported
from Australia to open and burglarize the room while Alsadune was the getaway
driver. Once Twaiur emerged with loot in hand, officers swooped in.
