political, legal, bureaucratic and educational systems.
More than 300 public officials and private citizens
from across Chonburi brainstormed ideas to reform Thailand’s political,
legal, bureaucratic and educational systems at a junta-organized
workshop on reconciliation.
Chonburi Gov. Khomsan Ekachai opened the July 9 confab at the Chon Inter
Hotel with the Chonburi City Council and the 14th Military Circle.
Khomsan and 14th Circle commander Maj. Gen. Nut Inthacharoen delivered
opening speeches to clarify the concept of the reconciliation and unity
for the national development.
Nearly 300 government officials, public-enterprise executives, political
activists, business owners, civil servants and private citizens from
Chonburi’s 11 districts split into five discussion groups to brainstorm
ideas for reform of ten areas, including the political system, courts,
public administration, graft and corruption, education, economy,
information and communications, and social inequality.
Military officials said the dialogue was a channel for people from all
sectors to express their views on reform and take part in the
reconciliation process. (CPRD)
