Pattaya honored 59 of the city’s best mothers for Mother’s Day,
recognizing them for their good deeds.
Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome and former Culture Minister Sukumol Kunplome
presented certificates to the women at Central Festival Pattaya Beach,
with Sukumol praising in her speech “A mother’s love never wanes over
time.”
Mana Yaprakam, president of the Pattaya Culture Council, which organized
the event, said the ceremony was to pay respect to mothers who work for
the benefit of their community and devote themselves to raising their
children to be good individuals of the society.
“A mother is a person of great importance because she gave birth, raised
and took care of us and truly loves her children,” Mana said. “Children
must always show gratitude and respect. Therefore, these 59 good mothers
received certificates to honor them on Mother’s Day and to instill the
value of gratefulness for parents and respected ones.”
The event included a dharma lesson from Panyarattanaporn, abbot of
Chaimongkol Temple; a ceremony that saw children prostrate themselves
before their mothers to thank and honor them.
