The National
Communications and Telecommunications Commission is holding “Know Your
Rights” forums around the country to educate students and residents on
laws applying to the areas the NBTC covers: telephone, Internet and
television services.
The National Communications and Telecommunications
Commission listened to complaints from Chonburi residents while
educating them on their rights regarding telephone, Internet and
television services.
NBTC consumer-protection director Chaiyut Monksri presided over the
Sept. 19 forum at Chonburi City Hall. He noted that the province, with
its large commercial, industrial and tourist base, is a major consumer
of telecommunications services, yet customers may not always understand
their rights under the law.
The commission is holding “Know Your Rights” forums around the country
to educate students and residents on laws applying to the areas the NBTC
covers: telephone, Internet and television services. It also is a chance
to take complaints from consumers.
The forum, he said, also gives the NBTC a chance to educate the public
on the commission’s roles and responsibilities. (CPRD)
