Dr. Dan Lives!....
Dr. Dan Scala was spotted contentedly sipping a Gin and Tonic over
Songkran weekend in his new found paradise garden at Map Ta Phut. Friends of
Dr. Dan and Nu will be very happy to know that California Coolers is
open for business. Our hawk-eyed reporter was given a taste of what’s to
come and he swears that Nu can make the best American food this side of the
Alamo. What is American food?, you may ask. How about a little of Mexican,
Italian, English, German, Chinese, Thai, French, Japanese, many and other
“eeses” imaginable.

La Havana was the venue for the Ban Chang Miss.
Songkran contest, held last Saturday. The place was jam packed with
revellers all out to support their favourite maiden. Picture shows the
winner Miss Jutarat Ruetichai sponsored by Katz Bar and runner up Kaetkaew
Songyoo sponsored by Michi Japanese Restaurant.

Expatriates in Ban Chang have wondered why the pictured
scaffolding on castors has remained in the middle of a busy Soi for years
covering a small pothole. No attempt has been made to remove the structure
or to repair the pothole. Perhaps one of our readers can supply an
explanation.

Eastern Star Golf Course Clubhouse was the venue
for the presentation of a cheque by Odette Geenen (Rayong Ladies Circle
Welfare Committee) to Tiew Supha Monghol. Khun Tiew is raising funds for the
secondary education of two young girls from the Huey Pong Child Protection
Institute.

The ladies of the Aussies and Kiwis Group recently met
for lunch at Jim’s Place Restaurant at Ban Chang Eastern Star Plaza
Shopping Centre. The Group is newly formed and aims to hold monthly
social functions for males and females living between Pattaya and Rayong.
